Pictures of Boats

‘Pictures of Boats’

Wanted - Your boats…..or should I say pictures of boats and posts of what it is to own, use and enjoy boats whether it’s for leisure, pleasure or work!

Why?

Let me go back to the beginning…..

I used to ski ‘just for fun’ on weekends and whenever there was time to drop my boat in water ‘and’ find a ready, willing and able mate to share my passion. Until they invent autonomous boats that will take off at speed when you shout ‘hit it’ and stop when you flip uncontrollably up in the air, you’ll always need ‘a mate’.

Back then with two young children, Natalie who was one and Alex ‘about to be born’, family life took over and so I reluctantly had to put my skiing on hold and traded the boat in for push chairs, a new nursery and all the other stuff that a new family needs.

‘On hold’ maybe, but the want to be involved never went away but eventually other sports and activities took over, although I’d always promised myself that ‘one day’ I’d set myself time to get involved once again.

Time moved on and so my long term goal was to retire into a project that I could pursue at my own pace and time.

Unfortunately, a cardiac arrest at 64 meant that my plans were redirected into other things which included building a website, showing pictures of boats and generally encouraging others into boats and boating-life, hence the site www.boatsforsalesearch.com was born, this was in a way a new direction, albeit not quite as I'd planned!

Looking back to when I bought my first boat, I didn’t have a clue what to do or how to do it, so I thought maybe I could help others, as I very much doubt that with my medical history that (endorsed by my wife), I wouldn't be allowed too far into open water anytime soon.

Which brings me back to my opening line ‘wanted - your boats’, not that I’m looking to buy a boat myself but want others to share ‘their boats’ and how they use them as an inspiration for others.

As you’ll see on the website pages and the various boat types listed, I want to give encouraging information, on as many aspects of buying and owning a boat, and looking for current boat owners, willing to share pictures of their ‘real boats’ and how they are used.

In return you'll have recognition as the owner, a link to your business or anything you want to link to. There’s even a free web page available to offer up your own story, publicise what you do, or even sell your boat!

There are no fees or charges and my only revenue will be from small ads that contribute to the upkeep of the website.

As for my activities these days, after my illness and reflecting on a fairly active past, I decided to do something completely different and took up roller blading at 67!

Maybe not a first choice for pensioners, but it has given me the opportunity to build the website and become involved in fundraising for good causes, which I’ll continue to do for the foreseeable future.

Details can be seen here https://bit.ly/3jG09f0.

So, from what started as a hobby, sport, leisure activity and passion for boats, could well be the same for others.

I’m sure in my retirement years, the website will always keep me busy alongside the many enjoyable hours skating around the coastal paths of Cardiff, Penarth and The Gower Peninsula areas of South Wales.
